Jodi is presently in the second year of the Environmental Conservation and Reclamation Program at Lakeland College in Vermillion.

 Lloydminster and District Fish and Game Association Conservation Scholarship







Two scholarships of $750 each may be awarded annually to encourage entry of qualified students into a career in Conservation, Wildlife/Fisheries Biologist or Renewable Resource Technologies.

Students must have attended highschool in our membership area:Lloydminster Comprehensive High School, Lashburn, Hillmond, Holy Rosary Highschool, Marwayne, Kitscoty or Paradise Valley.

Each applicant will submit a letter of acceptance from the post-secondary institution where he or she will be taking their environmental science courses.

Application forms should be available from the career counsellor in the above mentioned highschools.

Lloydminster & District Fish & Game Association
Conservation Scholarship

. BRIEF

The Lloydminster and District Fish and Game Scholarship will provide financial assistance
to a student of a recognized Canadian educational post-secondary institution who is
enrolled in a course of environmental studies such as Fisheries and/or Wildlife
Management; Resource Management Studies; Ecology, Conservation and Environmental
Resources.

PURPOSE OF SCHOLARSHIP

To encourage entry of qualified students into a career in the Conservation
Wildlife/Fisheries Biologist or Renewable resources technologies.

NAME OF THE DONOR

Lloydminster and District Fish and Game Association Inc.

AMOUNT OF YEARLY SCHOLARSHIP

   1.        Will be a one-time payment of $750 to the successful applicant.

2.                  The scholarship may not be awarded during a particular year if there are no suitable
applicants, but that scholarship may be awarded in a following year if the number of
applicants warrant it
.

   3.    There will be a review of the amount of the scholarship every three years.

TERMS OF SCHOLARSHIP

1.                  The application deadline is September 20 in the year the scholarship is to be
awarded.

   2.         The applicant must apply as follows:

               1 .          Applications should be submitted on the application form

                             specifically designed for this scholarship.

2.                   Submit a statement of high school marks and any other educational
achievements if applicable.

               c.         Submit a letter of acceptance for a post-secondary institution.

d.                   Provide two (2) letters of reference that summarize the applicant's personal
qualities.

               e.          Include a resume.

               f.           Be available for a personal interview, if requested.

CONDITIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP

1.                   The applicant must enroll in a course which will train the applicant to work in the
conservation, environmental, or renewable resources field.

2.                   Other awards the applicant may receive wlll not disqualify the applicant for this
scholarship.

 3        The applicant must meet the entrance requirements in this specific subject area.

4.                   The applicant is eligible to receive this award only once - unsuccessful applicants may re-apply.

5.                   The Lloydminster & District Fish & Game Association reserves the right to disqualify an applicant if judged unacceptable.

6.                   Applicants must show a sincere interest in continuing in an occupation relating to
conservation, Ecology, FisherieslWildlife or Resource Management
.

7.                   The applicant should have resided in the general membership area of the
Lloydminster & District Fish & Game association for at least one semester during his high school years.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION FROM ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

Selection shall be based on these criteria listed in order of importance:

            1.     Academic achievement- as calculated from marks- especially science      marks 

            2.     Personal qualities as judged from the letters of reference.

            3.     The suitability of the applicant for his/her particular career choice.

            4.      Financial need - only if all other factors are equal.

SELECTION PROCESS

Selection shall be determined by a 5-member selection committee composed of 2
representatives of the Lloydminster & District Fish & Game association: 2 educational
representatives; and a working conservation officer, biologist, or wildlife technician.

ADMINISTRATION

1.                  The sponsor will administer the scholarship and appoint the selection committee.

2.                  There will be an annual contribution of the funds from the general account of the
sponsor by October 20. This may then be forwarded to the successful applicant
.

3.                  Application forms will be available from the Lloydminster & District Fish & Game
Association, Box 116, Lloydminster, SK; major high schools in the area; or a local
school division office such as the Lloydminster Public, Lloydminster Separate
School, Battle River
, and Buffalo Trail.

4.                  The selection committee will make application forms available to the above
mentioned locations, and will provide the initial press release and a yearly
notification in local print media.

5.                  Suitable presentation of the scholarship will be made by the Lloydminster & District Fish & Game Association in the fall.

6.                  The selection committee shall be responsible for arranging appropriate publicity,
record keeping and administration to facilitate the continued provision of this
scholarship.
